Disney made a surprise announcement in its 2016 second quarter earnings. Disney Infinity has been canceled and the mega-corporation has dropped out of the games publishing business altogether. The first hint came from Wall Street Journal reporter Ben Fritz who revealed the news via his Twitter account. Disney has canceled Disney Infinity and taken a $147 million charge against the company’s financials. The cancellation of the toy-to-life game also impacts developer Avalanche Software....

Coromon is a monster-taming game inspired by the likes of Pokémon but with its own twists as well. It is releasing for PC, and the Nintendo Switch features multiplayer mechanics. The Dragon Ball Super Blu-ray/DVD release of box 3 has been slightly delayed as the date has been pushed back by one month. Originally scheduled to be released on June 2nd, 2016, the third box of Dragon Ball Super’s Blu-ray/DVD will now be coming out on July 2nd, 2016. It’s unknown how long the current Champa saga will be going on for as the manga is still being printed. It’s possible it could go longer than episode number 36, but we’ll just have to wait and see for now....

Evolution Studios has teased that the January update for Driveclub will be adding more bikes to the game. More info on it will be revealed next week. Driveclub’s Director, Paul Rustchynsky, tweeted: “Yes, more BIKES are on their way (plus we’ve already released an additional 3 free bikes).” This comes as good news for gamers that prefer bikes over cars. Neverwinter is taking up that challenge with Dragonslayer, a new module coming to the free-to-play MMO this June. Electronics Arts has announced it has finalized the acquisition of Respawn Entertainment — a deal which puts the once-independent developer in the hands of the second largest gaming company in the Americas and Europe by revenue and market capitalization. EA allegedly plans to make the next major Battlefield game a hero shooter, claimed industry insider Tom Henderson on Friday. Battlefield 2042, which introduced specialists — playable characters each equipped with their own unique gameplay abilities — was supposedly meant to serve as a “stepping stone” towards this rumored project, the insider said. “The next Battlefield title is scoped as a hero shooter of sorts – It’s not a removal of specialists, but an enhancement of them,” wrote Henderson on Twitter....
