Doraemon and Harvest Moon fans have reason to rejoice. Bandai Namco has announced a crossover between the two franchises with the upcoming game Doraemon Story of Seasons. It will see releases on both the Nintendo Switch and the PC, via Steam, sometime this Fall. The Story of Seasons franchise is a series of agricultural simulation role-playing games that began way back in 1996 with Harvest Moon. It’s only been out for a few days, but Square Enix’s Dragon Quest XI: Definitive Edition is already taking over the world. Months after it released for PC, the game came out for Nintendo Switch last week, complete with a new retro mode that lets players enjoy it in a classic old-school style. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, will be releasing Sept. 4 in North America and Europe. The localised version of the game will come with a bunch of new additions for the Western audience. These include English voiced dialogue, a Hard Mode option, overhauled menus, and a first-person camera mode. “Our aim with Dragon Quest XI and the Dragon Quest brand is to grow the audience in the West,” Square Enix told IGN....
Niantic has announced the second Pokémon Go Community Day after the success of January’s first event. On Jan. 20, players were given the chance to capture a special Pikachu. This Pikachu knew the move Surf and was only available for a limited time. Now, on Feb. 24, Pokémon Go players from around the world can head to their local community parks to find a special Dratini. This Dratini, if caught, gives the player three times the regular Stardust and has an exclusive move that no other Dratini will ever have again....
In recent discussions with IGN, EA President Frank Gibeau stated that Battlefield was at the top of the FPS genre. “No other shooter on the market that does what Battlefield does,” he said. With a mix of vehicles and infantry combat, fully destructible environments over large-scale levels, “nobody matches that,” and “until they do, we have a unique position.” Gibeau spoke on how the franchise has grown and developed over time....
Loot boxes are a contentious subject in video games — and a global one at that. The United States proposed a loot box bill in the Senate in 2019, and some countries like the Netherlands have even taken companies like EA to court over the issue. Despite using the same game engine (Frostbite 2), Medal of Honor: Warfighter and Battlefield 3 will be quite different by design, according to EA’s Frank Gibeau.
