A couple of months ago we were told that EA Access would be coming in July on PlayStation 4, after years spent exclusively on Xbox One and a bit later on PC as Origin Access. Now, we finally have a full release date for the subscription-based service from Electronic Arts.
EA Access will be launching on PlayStation 4 on July 24, it was announced today, as shared by GameSpot.
The service costs $30 / £20 / AU $40 for a year or $5 / £4 / AU $40 per month. Subscribing you have access to The Vault, which is storage filled with older games that you can play whenever you want and that now includes among the others Battlefield V, Star Wars Battlefront II and FIFA 18.
It also offers a few bonuses such as a 10% discount on Electronic Arts’ games on that platform and Play First Trials, which allow you to grab a 10-hour demo of an incoming title ahead of its release and carry on the complete release all the progress you achieved in that playtime.
Sony has not given EA the permission to ship the service on PS4 up until a few months ago, as the company thought that PlayStation Plus had the be the only subscription available over there. Now that PS Plus only grants you two games, perhaps, it was an excellent time to let EA Access come in.
