Square Enix has announced that it will be releasing the upcoming title Hitman in an unusual way.
As we reported earlier Square Enix announced a new Hitman game at E3 2015, with PlayStation 4 gamers getting 6 exclusive missions. However, upon release on December 8th the full game will not be available. Instead new content will be released including missions and areas into 2016.
Hannes Seifert, Studio Head at Io-Interactive, had this to say about the release announcement made at E3:
“This is new ground for Hitman, coming out digital first enables us to do something new, bold and exciting. We are building a live, expanding and evolving world of assassination where we continuously develop the game, listening closely to the players as we release new locations, missions and hits as soon as they are ready – where $60 and not a dollar more gets you full access to the experience.”
