The Poland-based independent studio of Techland is preparing to unleash Dying Light 2 Stay Human into full swing. Today, the team announced that the upcoming open-world zombie sequel to 2015’s surprise horror hit will be arriving this December 7. In addition to the news, Techland will be starting a video series that explores more of the game’s universe and development.

Dying 2 Know: Episode 1

It’s been a few years since we jumped and fought against the undead through the streets and rooftops of Harran. Back then, we were Kyle Crane, an agent who was dropped into the midst of the outbreak. 20 years have passed, and the virus has spread. With this in mind, we’ll be stepping into the shoes of Aiden Caldwell, our new protagonist.

In the first episode of Techland’s Dying 2 Know series, we get a nice mix of introductory information on the sequel’s new world. In the 31 and a half minute video, the developers shine some light on the current situation with the virus. Humanity has lost its struggles against the undead, and The City, Villedor, stands as the final beacon of hope. The video moves on to talk about Aiden and his motivations in Dying Light 2 Stay Human. Together with a community contest and the gameplay video, there’s already a lot to look forward to – and this is just the first episode.

When asked about the meaning behind the game’s subtitle, Chief Creative Officer Adrian “Pyza” Ciszewski responded by saying:
