Dying Light 2 is now available, letting those who enjoy open-world games (and especially the first game) finally get a taste of what it has on offer. The City, as Dying Light 2 calls its world, is incredibly expansive and leaves a lot for players to not only scout out, but take on as well. One such mechanic is Windmills, which can provide you with a new way to fast travel between various locations on the map and save you just a bit of time. One particular windmill though, and likely one of the first you’ll encounter, is the Alder Windmill. If you’re having trouble powering it on, no need to worry. In this guide, we’ll tell you exactly how to power the Alder Windmill in Dying Light 2!
How to Power the Alder Windmill in Dying Light 2
For starters, you need to find the Alder Windmill. This has likely already been found by you if you’re here, but just in case, it can be found using the screenshot above. As you can see, it’s located in the Trinity District, which should make things just a tad easier. Once there, you’ll find it has a small platform, followed by a moving one going up and down. This is likely where you’ll find yourself stuck.
To start us off, get on top of the non-moving platform and stand on the X. When standing on this, your jump off of it will be a heavily extended jump. Given that the game has used these X’s to depict safe landing spots though, you may have been confused. All you have to do now is jump onto the moving platform when it’s at its lowest. Then, once it’s at its highest, jump to the opposite side and climb the ladder to the top. From there, it’s as simple as interacting with the fuse box, and you’re done! You’ll have learned how to power the Alder Windmill in Dying Light 2, and will score yourself a nice respawn point/safe house for later.
