Dying Light 2, needless to say, is a game all about parkour and combat. Everything you do revolves around the parkour and combat of the game, letting you tweak it to your heart’s desire to ensure you’re an unstoppable killing machine of your own design. With that being said, for a game about going fast, you’d be surprised to see the lack of a sprint key in the controls menu. So you may be asking, can you sprint in Dying Light 2? You actually can, though not in the same way as conventional games do it.

Can You Sprint in Dying Light 2?

To sprint, you’ll first want to head over to your skills menu and (expectedly) into the parkour menu. If you go down to the third row on the left of your parkour skills, you’ll find the Dart parkour skill. This is what you want to start with when it comes to sprinting in Dying Light 2. In essence, this perk lets you use up a small amount of your stamina to get a temporary boost of movement speed. So a shortened sprint in a sense.

That’s not all though. From here, you can head further into that end of the skill tree to unlock Dash, which lets you have that movement speed increase as long as you still have stamina. There’s even a third skill upgrade, titled Afterboost, which lets you get a quick burst of speed after doing certain parkour actions such as climbing and using Active Landing. While these methods are quite unorthodox, it’s good to see that Dying Light 2 at least lets you sprint when you want to. You’re just going to need a fair few Inhibitors and parkour skill points before you can get there.

Dying Light 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
