Dying Light 2 features many of the classic genre tropes that other RPGs have mastered throughout the years. A massive open-world, hundreds upon hundreds of side objectives to take part in, a lengthy story, they’re all there. One area that you may be a tad curious about though is romance, which is present in games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Mass Effect. In case you didn’t know, romance systems let you form a relationship with a particular character of your choosing, deepening your immersion into the world if you so choose. With Lawan being the only possible choice though, can you romance her in Dying Light 2? Allow us to enlighten you.

Can You Romance Lawan in Dying Light 2?

This is more complex of a question than one deserving of a yes or no answer, as much as it should be obvious. If you’re looking for something as in-depth as the games mentioned above, well you’re not going to get that out of Lawan sadly. But, there are hints of a romance between her and Aiden. At various points in the story, Lawan gives hints towards having something for Aiden, and you as Aiden can reciprocate those feelings. There isn’t ever any concrete bond between the characters though, with merely a slight change to the ending depending on some of the choices you made throughout. If you ask us, it’s a bit of a shame there isn’t a concrete romance available. But hey, you take what you can get.

It’s unclear if, in the future, there will be an update available that brings romance into the game. In the meantime though, we can take those heavy hints and appreciate them for what they are.

Dying Light 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
