Later this year, Dungeons and Dragons will release their new campaign book, Eberron: Rising From the Last War. Eberron has already been established in D&D lore since 2004, and the setting has a very different vibe from other campaign books. After an initial cover release, fans complained the art didn’t properly convey the world and culture of Eberron. So after an internal meeting, the Dungeons and Dragons team redesigned the cover.

The setting of Eberron has living constructs, magic trains, and unusual takes on the typical tabletop RPG races. The older cover, seen below, featured a gnome artificer, a homunculus, and a Warforged. Now, this art has been taken from the cover and will be used as opening art inside the book.

The new cover, seen below, features a harsher terrain and an armed woman standing alongside a Warforged and what looks to be a velociraptor. There is also some sort of winged creature watching them from the canyon walls.

In 2018, Dungeons and Dragons released Wayfinder’s Guide to Eberron as a playtest for the new Eberron content. This new book will feature the Artificer class once again along with two new subclasses, new playable versions of goblins and orcs, 11 group patrons, nearly 100 pages of maps, magic items, and 38 more monsters and NPCs.

Eberron: Rising From the Last War will be released on November 15th anywhere D&D books are sold. Pre-orders are currently live along with a 40% discount. Other D&D books released this year include Ghosts of Saltmarsh from this past May, which features spooky water-based adventures. And Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus, which will be released this September 17th and features quests into the first level of the Nine Hells. There have also been supplemental books published this year such as The Young Adventurer’s Guide trilogy and Uncaged volume I and II.
