Almost a month ago, we reported that Dungeon Defenders Awakened would be coming to Steam Early Access on February 21st. Today is that day, and the game appears to have released without a hitch. The game is now available for purchase on the Steam Store, set at USD 39.99. For Dungeon Defenders fans, this is incredibly exciting as they’ve been waiting for a new game since Dungeon Defenders 2 released.

Dungeon Defenders Awakened is a co-op tower defense game with action RPG elements. You command a squad of heroes, each with their towers and abilities to defeat a myriad of foes. Your goal is to protect the Eternia Crystal, a mysterious artifact that protects the kingdom from dangers. Along the way, you’ll collect a lot of loot and hopefully meet some new friends. You can play with up to three others, making for even more mayhem. The game is a complete remaster of the original Dungeon Defenders, including everything that was there along with improved visuals and new features. This is the new best way to play Dungeon Defenders, and you can find more information here.

As said above, the game is in Early Access so don’t expect all the bells and whistles just yet. The roadmap for the game details the game will be getting more content in the following months, so make sure to keep checking back. For those on other devices, the game is releasing on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One later this year. Otherwise, those that want more content can expect new bosses, maps, difficulties, challenge maps, and more! There’s a lot to look forward to for the future of Dungeon Defenders Awakened, and we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
