The Denis Villeneuve blockbuster and now 10-time Oscar-nominated film Dune rocked the world after coming out in October of 2021. The newest film adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic sci-fi novel “Dune” had an abrupt ending with fans wanting more. Thankfully, a Dune Part 2 has been confirmed, and fans worldwide can’t wait to watch. In other Dune news, something even more fortunate, the amazingly talented actress Florence Pugh might be joining the Dune crew for Part 2.

The lovely Florence Pugh is reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of Dune Part 2. If all goes well with the deal, Florence Pugh will star as Princess Irulan Corrino, a royal who becomes romantically entangled with Timothée Chalamet’s character Paul Atreides. If Pugh does become a part of Dune, her character (at least in Frank Herbert’s literary canon) ends up playing a crucial role in the “Dune world.” That all depends on how far the makers of the Dune films are willing to dive in.

Production for Dune Part 2 is expected to begin this summer, with Villeneuve returning as director and most of the main ensemble. Chalamet returns along with Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and Stellan Skarsgård. The Dune sequel is slated to release in theaters about a year and a half from now, on October 20, 2023.

Florence Pugh is an Oscar-nominated actress is known for her work in the A24 horror Midsommar as Amy March in 2019’s Little Women and now widely known for her role in the MCU after starring as Yelena Belova in Black Widow and the Hawkeye Disney Plus series. Florence Pugh is also in the majorly anticipated psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling. The Olivia Wilde-directed film has Harry Styles fans very excited to watch, especially after the steamy snippets of the film we’ve seen with him and Pugh.
