After being removed from all digital platforms last year, DuckTales Remastered has miraculously reappeared on numerous storefronts. The game is available once again on Playstation 3, Steam, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One (via backward compatibility.) It’s not the most prolific of titles to have been de-listed, but any creation no longer available for purchase is always unfortunate.

Capcom announced they were pulling the game in August 2019, with no reason given. Fans speculated it may have had something to do with licensing issues, with Disney owning the DuckTales franchise. It seems even more likely that licensing issues were the case now the game has re-appeared across platforms. It’s a welcome return for the trio of ducklings and their affluent uncle, as DuckTales Remastered was received fairly well by critics when it initially released.

WayForward’s DuckTales Remastered originally released in 2013. The game is a remaster of the 1989 NES title DuckTales. It’s not Disney’s most famous property, but there’s still a decent amount of love for it. Minecraft announced a DuckTales crossover back in September 2019. It included a map with “the show’s most iconic locations – from the city of Duckburg and the halls of McDuck Manor, to legendary locations like the Pyramid of Toth-Ra or heights of Mount Neverrest.”The mash-up pack also came with multiple new characters, quests, and collectibles.

The DuckTales animated TV series also saw a reboot back in 2017. We loved the 44-minute long premiere episode, saying it “did a brilliant job of setting up the conflicts and characters of the series while also just being a fun little self-contained adventure to the lost city of Atlantis.” The DuckTales reboot was renewed for a third season back in 2018, though there’s no news on a premiere date as of yet.
