Driveclub had one of the most disappointing launches of 2014 that was plagued with server issues that left it near unplayable for a good while. Evolution Studios managed to right the ship eventually through a number of updates, including the much awaited weather update a few months back. They are not done with the updates either, as they have announced some “major updates” to the servers that are coming today.
As posted on their official Facebook page, it was revealed that the servers will be down for a good portion of the day for these upgrades.

“We are rolling out major updates to the DRIVECLUB servers today to improve perfromance and stability for all aspects of online play.
The servers will be unavailable from 11am BST while this happens and the work is expected to take up to 8hrs. You can still play the game offline during this time.
Apologies for any inconvenience this causes and thank you for your patience while we continue working to improve the game.”
While the update was just posted and acted like the servers were going down later, the time given actually was just prior to the Facebook posting, as 11 am BST corresponds to 6:00 am ET. That means their goal is to have the servers back up by 2:00 pm ET, though we all know the estimates on server updates in gaming are usually longer than expected. The question remains on when we will have enough server upgrades to give us the PS Plus version that we were promised last year.
