Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is coming to the Nintendo Switch this Spring. Originally published by Capcom as just Dragon’s Dogma in 2012, Dark Arisen is an enhanced version released a year later in 2013. This makes it the first time the RPG series will be playable on a Nintendo console.

The one minute and thirty-second announcement trailer features a look at Dragon’s Dogma’s world of Gransys on the handheld console. The Nintendo Switch version will launch for the Switch on April 23rd and cost $30.

In the game, players control what is called the Arisen as they complete quests and battle monsters across the land. The role-playing game includes NPCs, called Pawns, that follow the player around. One of the more interesting parts of the Pawn system was pulling in ones from other players games through an online lobby. Each can be customized with different weapons and armor.

Dark Arisen included additional content featuring a new dungeon for the game called Bitterblack Isle. It also came with new weapons and armor for the Arisen and Pawns as well as additional voice acting.

Dragon’s Dogma features many aspects of the Dark Souls games. Players go around the world fighting gargantuan monsters and creatures while collecting loot.

The game released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2012. It eventually arrived on PC in 2016. Xbox One players and PlayStation 4 owners could download copies of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen in 2017.

Fans will be able to explore the open world and slay fearsome monsters on the go and at home when Capcom releases Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen for the Nintendo Switch this April. The release date comes exactly six years after Dark Arisen originally launched for Xbox 360 and PS4.
