The Dragon Quest series has been around since the NES era, but it certainly has had somewhat of a hard time making a big impact in the US. While we are still waiting for news on if Dragon Quest XI will be coming to the US at some point in the future, but we got some good localization news on two other titles in the series.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past got a port to the 3DS back in 2013, along with a port of Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King just this past August. Many were worried that we wouldn’t get either, or at least not Dragon Quest VII in the US, but that is no longer the case.

During the latest Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that both Dragon Quest VII and Dragon Quest VIII would be coming to the US next year.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past will be hitting the Nintendo 3DS in the early summer in 2016, while Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King has a more vague release date, but it will be coming sometime in 2016.

Hopefully we will also get the Thearhythm Dragon Quest game at some point, though that may be more of a longshot. We also need these to sell well so we can get Dragon Quest XI sooner rather than later as well.
