The Dragon Ball Super manga is a little ahead of the TV series and it is set to start the Champa saga very soon.
As reported by Kanzenshuu, the latest issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump has provided an update on the manga version of Dragon Ball Super.
The translation of the magazine says “witness in the manga, an unknown super story development“. It goes on to say that the “Champa arc” starts up. It even suggests fans can read up on the manga to see what happens ahead of the TV series.
The manga has already finished the Battle of Gods saga and will soon be finished with Resurrection F. The TV series is quite behind with the Battle of Gods saga possibly ending this week with Resurrection F just beginning in the next few weeks.
Not a lot is known about Champa only that he is a fatter version of Beerus. It’s speculated he is from a different universe. He also has a female version of Whis with him too.
The Champa saga of Dragon Ball Super will be interesting because it will finally add some new material. The stuff we have seen so far are just a retelling of the events from the recently released animated movies.
