The so-called “Streaming Wars” are heating up, as Twitch signs exclusive deals with streamers Dr. Lupo, Lirik, and TimTheTatman. All three streamers are signed on to stream exclusively on Twitch for the next few years.

Slasher on Twitter was one of the first to break the news. They have inside information, and have broken news beforehand. They report that the deals between all three streamers are worth millions of dollars. Polygon later reported on the news as well.

The term “Streaming Wars” was coined by fans and journalists to describe the increasingly heated competition between major streaming services. Arguably, this began back when Ninja, Twitch’s number one streamer, took a deal from Microsoft to switch over to its streaming platform, Mixer. Michael Grzesiek, the streamer also known as Shroud, later followed Ninja and signed an exclusive contract for Mixer as well.

Benjamin Lupo (a.k.a. DrLupo), Saqib Zahid (a.k.a. Lirik), and Timothy Betar (a.k.a. TimTheTatman) are three of the biggest streamers on Twitch at the moment.

DrLupo is known for playing Fortnite, though lately has been playing other games; he has over 3 million followers on Twitch.

Lirik focuses on many different games, initially beginning as World of Warcraft streamer before moving to other games like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds; he has over 2.5 million followers on his Twitch channel.

TimTheTatman is another streamer who specialized in a variety of games, but grew in popularity thanks to Fortnite; he has over 4 million followers on his channel. All three are represented by the talent agency Loaded.
