DOOM Eternal has today launched update 6.66 on all platforms, so here’s the full list of changes and fixes with this patch. Now, while update 6.66 on its own may sound significant for a game centered on slaughtering the forces of Hell, unfortunately, this is a fairly minor update all around. Instead, we’re looking at some prep work being done for Battlemode 2.0’s Seasons 4, 5, and 6. These include a whole host of new cosmetics, all earnable simply by playing matches of Battlemode. You’re here for the nitty-gritty though, so we’ll let Bethesda’s notes do the talking. Without further adieu, here’s everything new with DOOM Eternal in its 6.66 update!

DOOM Eternal Update 6.66 Patch Notes

This minor update for DOOM Eternal includes new cosmetic content rewards* for the upcoming Battlemode 2.0 Season 4, Season 5, and Season 6. Each of these Battlemode 2.0 Seasons offers new Slayer and weapon skins and player badges + nameplates on the Slayer side. They also offer 2 new Demon skins and player badges + nameplates on the Demon side. Stay tuned to our official DOOM Twitter channel for when they go live! In the meantime, here’s a preview of what’s coming first in Battlemode 2.0 Season 4!

Now while there isn’t much to talk about from that paragraph alone, there are some strong skins making their way into Season 4 of Battlemode 2.0. Most notably, the new Immoran, Onyx Knight, and Hailfire skins for the Archvile, Dread Knight, and Slayer respectively. I don’t know about you, but that Onyx skin with its focused black and purple hints is to die for. I’m a bit of a sucker for black with highlights though, so maybe that’s just me. Alongside the skins is a welcome set of player cards, emblems, and the beautiful new Plasma Gun skin. All of this is earnable simply by playing.

DOOM Eternal and update 6.66 are available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia. For more information regarding this update, check out the official Steam post.
