Bethesda and id Software released a new trailer detailing the new DOOM Eternal multiplayer mode, BATTLEMODE.
DOOM Eternal‘ s BATTLEMODE is a 2v1 multiplayer. It allows to “experience the fast aggressive fun of the single-player with their friends”. One player takes the role of the Slayer and fights against two demons controlled by the other two players. In total, there will be five playable demons to choose from: the Revenant, Pain Elemental, Mancubus, Arch-vile, and Marauder. All with different abilities and weapons.
The DOOM Slayer is fully equipped with all the weapons and attachments. Therefore, in a 1v1, a demon doesn’t stand a chance. The goal of the players that control the demons is, therefore, to attack together and to put the Slayer in danger by casting additional demons controlled by the A.I. On the other hand, the Slayer should prefer to confront the demons one by one, when they are easier to take apart.
At the moment of the launch, this new DOOM Eternal‘s mode comes with six uniques arena. Also, Bethesda confirmed that all playable demons and maps will be free for all players.
Future plans for DOOM Eternal’ s BATTLEMODE
Bethesda and id Software will keep updating BATTLEMODE after launch.
DOOM Eternal is set to launch on November 22, 2019.
