The upcoming narrative adventure game is going to take longer to develop than originally thought.

Last year, just before E3, Life is Strange developer DONTNOD Entertainment revealed Twin Mirror, a mysterious, narrative-driven adventure game the developer has been working on in conjunction with publisher Bandai Namco. At the time, the game was scheduled for a 2019 release, but it turns out that it won’t be making that release window after all.

DONTNOD recently announced on social media that the release of Twin Mirror has been delayed and that the game is now scheduled to come out sometime in 2020. According to the official statement, the game has been delayed “to make Twin Mirror as great as it can be and offer you the best experience possible.” In the same statement, it was revealed that the PC version of the game will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for a year after launch. The game is also set to release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Twin Mirror will follow the story of a man who returns to his hometown for the funeral of a childhood friend, but one day wakes up in his hotel room to find a bloody shirt and no memory of the previous night. He’ll have to venture through his mind palace and interact with another version of himself to find out what happened.
