Two more classics join the service’s NES lineup.

It’s time once again for Nintendo’s monthly offerings for the Nintendo Switch Online’s NES library. This time, Donkey Kong 3 and Wrecking Crew will be joining the service’s lineup.

Nintendo recently announced that Donkey Kong 3 and Wrecking Crew will be joining the NSO’s NES lineup on July 17. Donkey Kong 3 was originally released in arcades and on the Famicom in Japan in 1983, just a year after its predecessor, Donkey Kong Jr., was released. Donkey Kong 3 is a departure from the series’ traditionally platforming gameplay, instead taking on a shooter gameplay style in which players play as Stanley, an exterminator protecting a greenhouse from the eponymous Donkey Kong. Unlike the first two Donkey Kong games, Mario does not make an appearance in Donkey Kong 3 – he does, however, appear in Wrecking Crew, a 1985 NES launch title. In this game, players will take control of Mario or Luigi as they plan for and then carry out the destruction of various buildings.

These games aren’t the only thing coming to the NSO service this month, as Nintendo has also recently announced that a Rewind feature will be debuting for the service’s NES games on July 17, the same time that Donkey Kong 3 and Wrecking Crew will be introduced into the service’s NES library.
