The Star Wars sequels introduced new characters, like General Hux, played by Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina). In an interview with TheWrap, the actor expressed how he would like to return to his role in something, but he is uncertain “anybody’s clamoring” for a film about his character, who he feels is “interesting” and that he could “do more” with the General.

“I don’t see them making the call. I’m not sure anybody’s clamoring for a Hux sequel or prequel. But yeah, of course. Those movies are amazing.”

The J.J. Abrams films, The Force Awakens and The Rise of Skywalker, shared plenty of similarities with the original trilogy. In the Star Wars sequels, Domhnall Gleeson was like Peter Cushing’s Grand Moff Tarkin. They were both servants of powerful overlords, with Tarkin serving Darth Vader and Hux serving Kylo Ren.

Domhnall Gleeson wants to do more Star Wars as General Hux

Through the sequel trilogy of Star Wars, Domhnall Gleeson went through a lot as Hux. At first, he was a secondary villain in The Force Awakens. Rian Johnson humanized him with humor in The Last Jedi. When it came back to Abrams for The Rise of Skywalker, he revealed himself as a Resistance spy and was killed off-screen. Without a definitive end, like characters who we saw die, he could always come back. At least he could be brought in for a prequel Disney and Lucasfilm bounce all over the timeline to explore various characters.

Besides Star Wars, Domhnall Gleeson has found himself in plenty of major projects in his career. He had a leading role with Oscar Isaac in Alex Garland’s Ex Machina. He has also been in Harry Potter, Black Mirror, Frank, and Anna Karenina. He most recently joined Steve Carell for the mystery thriller series The Patient. He will join Woody Harrelson and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) for the miniseries The White House Plumbers.
