Update: From the day one patch, it seems that ultrawide is not fully supported. All it does is zoom into the screen, making it even harder to see enemies and the like, instead of your character being in the middle of the screen and be able to see most things around you. Rather, you are at the bottom of the screen, meaning you cannot see a thing below you—making it terrible to play for an ARPG.

No news about an official fix coming from Neon Giant to fix the ultrawide issues for The Ascent. Instead, like normal, the community has decided to take this task upon themselves to get it fixed. We have a guide on how to download and use this program to fix the issues for The Ascent: How to fix Ultrawide/FOV issues for The Ascent

Old: Like many Action Role-Playing games, having more screen space makes the game more thrilling, as you can see what is coming better. You can see enemies level without getting up close and personal and risk being instantly killed.

The Ascent will support Ultrawide monitor support from day one. There will be a day one patch to implement this into the game. Even though you can preload the game now, on Steam and on Xbox Game Pass, expect a patch before playing the title.

This patch will allow The Ascent to play in ultrawide resolutions, so players can see a much wider view of the game world, which is perfect for ARPG games, as no one likes being shot from outside the area of view, which is pretty unfair, especially when it comes to bosses.

So instead of having black borders or just empty space at the edges of your screen, you can make full use of your screen space while going around killing enemies of Veles in glorious ultrawide. You’ll also be able to see more chests that you might never have seen if not playing in ultrawide.
