At its core, Pokémon is a collection game. The players are meant to collect as many Pokémon as they can capture, but many wish to compete in battles, train them, and have them become stronger to steadily evolve into new forms. Pokémon also features his trope, though, players level up their pocket monsters by capturing more of them and using their respective candies. If you encounter enough of a particular Pokémon or become extremely lucky, you might find a shiny version, an alternative appearance to its normal look. Although, not every Pokémon has a shiny form in their mobile game, such as Oshawott.
Oshawott is one of the three starter Pokémon from the Unova region. It’s a Water-type, and it’s one of the beginner Pokémon you have to choose before you start the adventure. In Pokémon Go, you can encounter this Pokémon in the wild and potentially add it to your collection. However, while the assets might be upload to the game, developer Niantic has not turned them on. Thus, no matter how many times you encounter or attempt to capture an Oshawott, you will never locate its shiny form. It’ll likely release in a future update, alongside an exclusive event featuring Unova Pokémon, or Water-types.
Oshawott has three evolutions, as does nearly every start Pokémon in the franchise. Its final form is Samurott, has a maximum CP of 2,826, an attack of 179, a defense of 135, and a stamina of 182. It has fairly medicore stats, and there’s nothing special about its moveset, so it’s likely a PokéDex filler for anyone interested in fill it out. You probably won’t end up using it in the Great, Ultra, or Master league, or even in raids. There are far better Water-type options for you to pick.
