In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, players assume the role of Star-Lord, the leader of a band of intergalactic misfits on an adventure that spans several wild worlds across the universe. Players can make dialogue choices when conversing with others in the game’s world, but do the dialogue choices impact the game’s story?

Dialogue choices do impact the plot in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Star-Lord can decide what routes to take in the story when players select different options. During Chapter 2 of Guardians of the Galaxy, players meet a young Nova Corps member named Nikki. If players get her to trust Star-Lord, she’ll trust him with a key card that’ll be useful later on in the game, and this is just one example of the impact dialogue decisions can have on the game’s campaign.

Dialogue choices impact several scenarios significantly, but won’t drastically change what happens in the story, so don’t worry about making a decision that could ruin your chances at a good ending.

There is enough variation in players’ choices that may warrant a second playthrough to see all the hijinks this band of intergalactic misfits can get into. You’ll miss plenty of jokes your first time through with one dialogue, choice and the comedy alone are worth a return trip to see how several situations in the game pan out.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
