Disney Plus has officially announced a release date for season 2 of The Mysterious Benedict Society, as well as giving fans a look at a new trailer for the new season. News of the trailer and the official release date comes nearly a year after the show’s renewal in September 2021.
The Mysterious Benedict Society first premiered on Disney Plus in June 2021 and is originally based on a series of books by Trenton Lee Stewart. The series follows the eccentric Mr. Nicholas Benedict (Tony Hale) as he recruits four gifted orphans – George “Sticky” Washington (Seth B. Carr), Reynie Muldoon (Mystic Inscho), Kate Wetherall (Emmy De Oliveira), and Constance Contraire (Marta Kessler) – and sends them on a mission to infiltrate the shadowy Learning Institute for Veritas and Enlightenment, or L.I.V.E., run by Dr. L. D. Curtain, who is secretly Nicholas Benedict’s long-lost twin, Nathaniel.
Season one of The Mysterious Benedict Society, which concluded in August 2021, followed the orphans as they are recruited by Benedict and sent to infiltrate the Institute and find the culprit behind The Emergency, which is spreading panic among the general public, while also navigating their newfound family with each other and Mr. Benedict. Season two of the show has been announced for release on October 26, starting with a two-episode premiere followed by weekly episodes on Wednesdays.

The newest trailer for The Mysterious Benedict Society season 2, featured below, shows Sticky, Kate, Reynie, and Constance on a journey to find and recover Mr. Benedict from his evil twin by solving a trail of puzzles left behind by their leader. Deadline reports that the new season will follow the kids and their allies as they embark on “a globe-trotting adventure by air, land, sea, and pie truck, using their special skills to solve the mysteries and rescue their lost associates.” Along with the main cast, MaameYaa Boafo, Ryan Hurst, and Gia Sandhu are also shown returning as Rhonda Kazembe, Milligan, and Ms. Perumal, respectively.
The Mysterious Benedict Society was co-created by Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay, with the duo also serving as executive producers alongside Jamie Tarses, Karen Kehela Sherwood, Deepak Nayar, and James Bobin. Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavkin serve as showrunners.
The Mysterious Benedict Society season 2 will be released on October 26th, 2022. Season 1 is currently available on Disney Plus.
