The third annual entry in the Disney Infinity series released back in late August with a major focus on Star Wars, though there were some other Disney characters thrown in there. We already had heard about some future playsets coming out for the game and a trailer has now been released for a new Marvel one that you can expect next year.
Last year’s Disney Infinity 2.0 focused largely on Marvel, but that has taken a backseat so far this year. However, that is changing with the already announced Hulkbuster and Ultron figures coming in November, but it’s getting even better in 2016.
The Marvel Battlegrounds playset is one of the most ambitious projects within Disney Infinity yet, as this brings an arena mechanic to the game that looks like it will be a blast.
This playset lets you pit up to four players against one another in local multiplayer with any of the released Marvel Disney Infinity Figures since last year. This includes the likes of Iron Man, Hulk, Groot, Spider-Man, and especially the upcoming Ultron and Hulkbuster.
The first look at Marvel Battlegrounds was not all, as we also got a look at a brand new figure that it appears may come packaged with the playset. That figure is a new version of Captain America with a new costume and abilities, known as Captain America – The First Avenger.
The Marvel Battlegrounds playset for Disney Infinity 3.0 will be releasing sometimes in March 2016.
