Disney Dreamlight Valley is a Disney-themed life-simulation game where you can live and play around with your favorite animated characters, from Mickey and his gang to Wall-E, Remy, and Moana. The game is planned to be fully released in 2023 as a free-to-play title, but players can already play the Early Access build by getting the Founder’s Pack or Game Pass subscription. Since Disney Dreamlight Valley is still in Early Access, various bugs and issues are bound to be found. One that currently annoys a lot of players is the Game Initialization Error 7. Here’s the official statement from the Disney Dreamlight Valley developer regarding Game Initialization Error 7 and how you can fix the problem.

Fix Game Initialization Error 7 in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley developer Gameloft stated that Game Initialization Error 7 only affects players in New Zealand and Australia region. Quitting the game while having the Well Fed buff active will somehow make the game stuck on the loading screen. Gameloft has promised to launch a fix in the upcoming update.

Although the official patch hasn’t been released yet, thankfully, you can still bypass the error. Several Reddit users in the r/DreamlightValley Subreddit have found a temporary fix to the Game Initialization Error 7 by changing the time zone on their PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox consoles. They recommend changing it to US East, US Central/Canada, and time to 12 hours behind. u/kiwgamedev also listed at least two other bugs that seem to get fixed when you change your time zone:

  • Items that can’t be eaten, sold or thrown away, including Clothing Bags that gave nothing, now work again.
  • Friends that don’t follow you around and help with Tasks when Hanging Out will help you again.
