The long-awaited update to Disney Dreamlight Valley has arrived, and with it comes Scar, an infamous Disney villain. Once you’ve done everything you needed to unlock his storyline, you can start to enjoy his quests. One of which is “Nature & Nurture.” So, let’s get into the “Nature & Nurture” quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley so you can explore more with Scar.

“Nature & Nurture” Disney Dreamlight Valley Guide – Part 1

Head to the Elephant Graveyard in the Sunlit Plateau to start the quest. Check inside a cave to find Scar.

After a conversation with Scar, he’ll tell you to enter the Vitalys Mines located beyond Goofy’s stall in the same biome.

As you navigate the tunnels, keep your pickaxe handy, as you’ll need it to clear some passageways. Also, you’ll come across some glowing rocks that look a little strange. These rocks have Vitalys Crystals on them. Be sure to mine the Vitalys Crystals, as you’ll need them later in the “Nature & Nurture” Disney Dreamlight Valley Scar quest.

Once you near the end of the mine, read the sign that details how special Root Beer harms Night Thorns. You can find ingredients for Extra Fizzy Root Beer at the mining camp.

Gather up those ingredients, and also gather the candy you’ll find on the ground. When that’s done, leave the mine and head to Merlin. He’ll confirm the Root Beer and Night Thorns connection and task you to make the recipe. Note that you must use the Dried Ginger from the mines, or it won’t work.

To continue with “Nature & Nurture” in Disney Dreamlight Valley, return to the Vitalys Mines with the Extra Fizzy Root Beer. Take it to the barrel and combine it with that candy you picked up. You’ll cause a foam explosion that will destroy the Night Thorns.

The water will flow again, and you’ll notice a Forgotten run inside a Dark Portal.

“Nature & Nurture” Disney Dreamlight Valley Guide – Part 2

Crossing over the portal, you’ll land in a darker version of the Valley. All you can do here is pick up the item he dropped and return with it through the portal.

Head to Merlin, and he explains that the item is the Orb of Nurturing. You must restore magic to it by crafting the Miracle Growth Elixir. Merlin gives you the recipe that includes the following:

  • x10 Vitalys Crystals
  • x10 Rich Soil
  • 1,000 Dreamlight

With the Miracle Growth Elixir, use it to enhance your Watering Can. Now, speak to Merlin again to continue the “Nature & Nurture” Disney Dreamlight Valley quest.

It’s time to plant the Orb and let time do the rest. So, head to the Pillar in the Sunlit Plateau and plant the Orb of Nurturing in front of it. Water it with your Watering Can and wait, as it will take multiple days to complete.
