Due to release next summer, Disgaea 6 sees the return of Nippon Ichi Software’s brilliant tactical RPG series. This time, as a Nintendo Switch exclusive in the west, it’s only the lucky Japanese players that get it for the PlayStation 4 as well. As we edge slowly towards the release, publisher NIS America has released a new trailer that reveals some of the story. You can see the said trailer below.

Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny, to give it its full name, stars a lowly zombie boy by the name of Zed. The strongest ever God of destruction has emerged to wreak havoc and destruction across the netherworlds. The trouble is, Zed arrives on the scene having already defeated him. Quite how he did so, and where his adventure takes him next is something we can all discover next summer, but for now, take a look at the trailer:

NIS America also revealed details of four voice actors who have lent their talents to Disgaea 6. Brandon Winckler stars as Zed, a zombie who utilizes a reincarnation spell that allows the user to relive their life over and over again. Joining him is Jason Marnocha as a zombie dog named Cerberus, who, incidentally, taught Zed the reincarnation spell.

Additionally, Kelly Baskin plays Melodia, a keen singer who relies on the power of love, and Sungwon Cho will play Misedor, king of the human world.

To top off all this excitement, Disgaea is also holding a “names of the netherworld” competition, which you can enter here. All you have to do is complete the form by December 4, 2020, at 11:59 PM PT for the chance to have your name available as a random option within the game’s character creation menu as well as a randomly generated name for enemy units.
