After spending a lot of time building the DCEU, director Zack Snyder took to the internet to show his appreciation for a certain actor that he’s been collaborating with.

Over on Vero, Snyder posted a picture of Ben Affleck as Batman with the caption, “I was transferring some photos from my old computer and came across this–not sure if I shared this one but it’s cool…Ben is my perfect Batman.”

A very sincere and kind-hearted sentiment from Zack Snyder indeed. While many are quite critical of Snyder’s work within the DCEU, including films like Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League, his choice of actor to take the role of the Dark Knight was praised by others. Although the director has recently parted ways from the franchise, this was a nice reminder to fans that he is still very proud of what he has helped create.

Whether Affleck will continue his stint as the Caped Crusader, we aren’t so sure. Following the poor critical reception of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, rumors swelled that the actor may not want to return to wear the cowl again. The upcoming film helmed by Matt Reeves, The Batman, originally had Affleck attached to play the titular character, but that all changed when it was decided that the project would focus on a younger Bruce Wayne. This would mean that a younger actor would be required to fill the role and that Affleck would not be able to star. Could this be what leads him to leave the character behind for good?

These are rumors, of course, so take them with a grain of salt. On the contrary, Affleck has gone on record saying glowing things about the DCEU films and Zack Snyder himself.
