Dinkum is a farming simulation and survival game made by James Bendon. The game quickly became popular due to its beautiful aesthetics and colorful world. In the game, there are many items that players can use to progress. One of these items is the Old Keys, and here is what to do with them in Dinkum.

What to Do with Old Keys in Dinkum

Before going through what to do with the Old Keys, you must know how to find them. These keys are located inside barrels scattered in the game. While some of these barrels are above the ground, many are buried.

To find these barrels underground, you must get yourself a Metal Detector. Once you’ve become friends with the shop owner, John, and successfully set up the shop, you can buy a Metal Detector for 6,600 Dinks.

Then go around and use the metal detector to find barrels and other stuff buried in the ground. If you apply for an excavation license and buy a shovel, you will increase your chances of getting Old Keys.

To use the metal detector, select it and hold the left click. Once you’ve found a place with a potential item underground, the metal detector will start to beep. Then use a shovel to dig up that place and see what you have found.

Bear in mind that Old Keys are not common items, and finding them can be hard so try as much as you can to find some. After you have Old Keys, it is time to use them. Then you need to have access to the Mines. The things you need to unlock the Mines are a Deep Mining License that you can apply for. Then Mine Deed and Mine Pass, which makes the entrance of the mine and gives access to it.

Then you must go through the mines and find the Treasure Rooms hidden in the Mines. Finding them can be tricky, but you can recognize them by finding a brick wall that differs from the rock-like exterior. To unlock a Treasure Room, you must have at least 2 Old Keys.

Dinkum is available for Early Access on PC.
