Birds of Prey was a short-lived show based on the DC comic of the same name back in 2002. Fans were recently treated to a little bit of nostalgia. Actress Dina Meyer dressed in the ever iconic Batgirl Costume!

Posted to her Twitter account, the Starship Troopers and 90210 star is seen posing with her brother. Meyer sadly only appeared in the costume in occasional flashbacks, but viewers with a keen eye would also spot the suit in a display case.
An attack by the Joker left Catwoman dead and Barbara paralyzed. Afterward Batman, in grief, leaves Gotham to the criminals. Wheelchair-bound and going by the name Oracle, Barbara is determined to continue the fight. Oracle teams up with Huntress (The child of Catwoman and Batman), and Black Canary. The three heroines now stop at nothing to fill the crime-fighting shoes left open by the missing Batman.
For the most part, Birds of Prey is a highly entertaining show and sets the groundwork for today’s DC lineup. Batgirl hasn’t been given her due since the show. Oracle is mentioned but never seen in the Arrowverse. Conversely, a couple iterations of Black Canary have graced the small screen in our favorite DC shows.
Barbara Gordon as Batgirl will resurface in Hollywood in the upcoming already controversial Batgirl movie. A new Birds of Prey feature film is also in the works, but sans the character. Time will tell if these projects live up to fan expectations.
Fans of the current slate of DC offerings on the CW and FOX should check Birds of Prey. The show was ahead of its time in ways but was never given a proper chance. All 13 episodes are available on for purchase or you can watch it on the DC Universe app.
