The latest entry in Bandai Namco’s monster collecting games, Digimon Survive, is now out in the wild for current console platforms. Like most Japanese RPGs out there, even though most are known to be linear and narrative-heavy, it would still take a lot of time to complete them. So how many hours would it take to beat Digimon Survive?

How Long is Digimon Survive?

First of all, Digimon Survive provides you with four different difficulty options: Very Easy, Easy, Normal, and Hard. If you play on Very Easy to Normal and you are not a completionist, it probably will only take you around 25-30 hours to run through all 12 Chapters like most standard JRPGs. And you can change the difficulty if you are stuck. The game is also split between 70% narrative segments or dialogue and 30% strategic combat, so you should be able to fast-forward most of the content… if you are that kind of gamer, don’t worry, though; I won’t judge.

But, if you want to recruit all 113 Digimon and complete all the three branching routes: Moral, Harmonious, and Wrathful, it will take much more time. According to Digimon games producer Kazumasa Habu, players might take 100 hours to 100%’d Digimon Survive. Here’s what Habu said during Digimon Con 2022 event (via Gematsu):

The game also features a New Game Plus mode which carries over all your befriended Digimon, their Levels, unlocked Digivolutions, and items and equipment obtained during the previous playthrough. Since Digimon Survive has branching scenarios and Digivolutions are tied to dialogue options, running a New Game Plus and spending 100 hours is a must if you want to get all the Digimon in the game while giving you an idea of how long it takes to beat the game.

Digimon Survive is now available via Steam on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
