Rainbow Six Patriots was showing a lot of promise for fans of the shooter franchise. A game that has seen numerous iterations over the year, Patriots seemed destined to jump back into the shooter market with a gritty take on counter terrorism.
We’ve heard nil about the game since 2011, but retailers had been taking pre-orders for the Rainbow Six reboot. Though just recently, GameStop has delisted the game from their releases schedule, and will no longer take pre-orders for the title. It’s being assumed that either Ubisoft has completely cancelled the project or going back to the drawing board on the project.
Ubisoft says that they’ve got nothing to share at this time about Rainbow Six: Patriots. It’s certainly not a definite that Rainbow Six Patriots has been cancelled, there’s certainly some reason why GameStop has removed the game from their listing.
The last game in the franchise was Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, which launched all the way back in 2008. Perhaps we’ll hear more about the state of the franchise at Ubisoft’s press conference prior to E3 2013.
