Blizzard Entertainment’s free-to-play action role-playing game Diablo Immortal has reportedly been released a day early, according to the publishers. The long-running dungeon crawler series has begun its global rollout and is now available to download on iOS and Android devices in certain parts of the world.

Diablo Immortal was initially announced in 2018 at Blizzard’s event (BlizzCon), although the action role-playing game wasn’t precisely well-received at the time. The story is supposed to take place slap bang in the middle of Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 and adapts the classic dungeon crawling formula the series is known for, changing it into a free-to-play model that is reliant on in-app purchases. Check out the original release date trailer below.

What is Diablo Immortal really about?

In Diablo, Immortal players will begin their journey in the city of Westmarch and must get to grips with one of six classes which are as follows: Barbarian, Wizard, Crusader, Monk, Necromancer, and Demon Hunter. The journey will take players across eight different areas either by themselves or with more battle-weary travelers. Blizzard has also mentioned that over time, they will add a few more zones, extra storylines, several new loot items, and some more classes.

Diablo Immortal was supposed to drop on June 2nd, but Blizzard announced recently that it had moved the mobile release forward by the massive leap of one whole day. The company’s reasoning was to ensure that the game’s launch operates as smoothly as possible – what one day does to help that we’re not sure, to be honest.

So, Diablo Immortal is now available on Google Play and iOS App Store; however, the PC open beta will still be sticking to that June 2nd date. But listen up because there’s more; the launch differs by territory, and Activision has already made it clear they have canceled the launch in Belgium and the Netherlands, and on top of that, several Asian countries such as Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macao, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam won’t be seeing the game until June 22nd (PC only). The game is also already available in certain parts of the US.
