So you say you want more of a challenge in Devil May Cry V?

If you’re looking for a challenge in Devil May Cry V you’re going to want to play the Son of Sparda mode in the game.  Problem is, this mode isn’t available right away.  This guide will explain what you need to do to get access to the Son of Sparda mode in Devil May Cry V on all platforms.

How to Unlock Son of Sparda Mode in Devil May Cry V

To get access to the Son of Sparda Mode in Devil May Cry V you’re going to need to beat the game and see the story through to the end on the Devil Hunter difficulty.  This will still provide some challenge in your first playthrough of the game as there are sixteen missions that you’ll need to beat at least once on Devil Hunter Mode.

Devil Hunter Mode is described as a mode “for veterans of Devil May Cry.”  As for Son of Sparda, the developers say that you’ll need to be “stylish” if you want to survive this harder mode.

Each difficulty level in Devil May Cry V is tracked within the mission select screen as well as scores for each level and your rank.  Each level is locked per difficulty level.  So just because you beat Devil Hunter does not mean you can go back to “Human” mode and then select any level on that difficulty.  You will need to beat each level on each difficulty to gain access to replay it.

To get access to Son of Sparda you will need to beat the game in Devil Hunter.
