An animator who worked on The Last of Us Part 1 Remake disputed the notion that it is “just a cash grab” and argued that a lot of thought and care was put into it. He claims that the expensive price of the remake is affordable.

The Last of Us Part 1 Remake Dev Responds to Cash Grab Complaints

The Last of Us remake was unveiled by Naughty Dog at the Summer Game Fest. However, it wasn’t a surprise because the details had previously been leaked the day before the event. And recently, the costs of the PS5 remake were accidentally revealed by the studio, shocking the majority of fans. The remake’s $70 price has drawn some criticism. Nevertheless, an animator working on The Last of Us Part 1 Remake opposes the idea that the project is purely financial.

“Actually it’s the most meticulously built and crafted project that I have ever seen or been a part of in my entire career,” Robert Morrison said on Twitter, who worked as a cinematic animator for the remake at PlayStation Studios. “The highest level of care and attention to detail possible.”

Morrison has been an animator in the video game business since the late 1990s. His works include Capcom’s Resident Evil 7 and God of War. While gamers will have the opportunity to see the graphics improvements of the PS5 version, we will see how the remake of an already accessible game justifies its high price.
