The final significant update before Destiny 2: Lightfall is called Season of the Seraph. A new Dungeon, changes to the Crucible, and numerous weapon and ability rebalances are all part of the new Season 19. The trailer shows Guardians setting out on a new mission to revive the Golden Age AI Rasputin.

Release Date and Roadmap

Officially known as Season of the Seraph, Season 19 of Destiny 2’s Witch Queen will take place from December 6 until February 28. The plot of Season of the Seraph picks up shortly after the events of Season of Plunder, which concluded with the recovery of rebel Warlock Osiris.

  • December 6: Season of the Seraph launches with updated Crucible, weapon and ability balances, and Moments of Triumph 2022.
  • December 9: New Dungeon arrives.
  • December 20: Revision Zero Exotic becomes available.
  • January 3: Iron Banner and new Fortress mode arrive.

What’s New?

Heist Battlegrounds, a new activity for Season of the Seraph, will see fireteams sent to various locations to sneak into Braytech facilities, get around sophisticated defense mechanisms, and defeat hordes of Xivu Arath’s Wrathborn.

For the weekly missions, Guardians will attempt to access a Braytech orbital platform above the Last City, the solar system’s most impenetrable building. Players will race to awaken Rasputin before it’s too late by overcoming defenses each week.
