Throughout seasons 16 to 18, Bungie has been tinkering with the Iron Banner formula in Destiny 2. The biggest change was the removal of a seasonal quest with Guardians using various weapons to rack up kills. Instead, Guardians must now complete a daily challenge that will award Pinnacle Engrams.
What is the Iron Banner Daily Challenge?
To view the Daily Challenge, players must open the Director, head to Crucible, and hover over the Iron Banner icon. The Daily Challenge is actually labeled as the Weekly Challenge when looking at it.

Iron Banner Daily Challenges
- Step 1: Complete three Iron Banner matches as either Arc or Stasis subclasses.Step 2: Complete seven Iron Banner matches as either Arc or Stasis subclasses.Step 3: Complete 12 Iron Banner matches as either Arc or Stasis subclasses.Step 4: Complete 18 Iron Banner matches as either Arc or Stasis subclasses.
With the seasonal quest gone, Guardians are free to use whatever weapon and loadout they like, so long as it conforms to the required subclass. These subclasses will change each season and recently have been rotated to highlight the 3.0 changes. For example, Season 18 using Arc as the Arc 3.0 rework was just released. It’s a great way to familiarize oneself with the PvP capabilities of a subclass rework and new gear and earn rewards along the way. So go forth, young wolf, and let your opponents hear your howl!
