Nightmare Breached is a Triumph in Destiny 2 featured in the Season of the Haunted. The quest description for this Triumph reads, “On the Derelict Leviathan, clear the Haunted Alcove opposite Calus.” Completing this objective challenge will net Guardians with 15 Moments of Triumph points, which can be used to unlock exclusive items for this current season. To get started on unlocking Nightmare Breached, Destiny 2 fans must locate the Haunted Alcove, a hidden cave found within Pleasure Garden of the Derelict Leviathan. To reach Pleasure Garden, go straight from the Castellum and turn right after the third unlit giant brazier.

Unlocking Nightmare Breached Triumph in Destiny 2

After following the dark passageway to the Pleasure Garden’s entrance, Guardians must wait several minutes until the following message appears at the bottom-left of their HUD, “A sword and shield clash together…Powerful Nightmares begin to slip away.” Once these phrases emerge, Destiny 2‘s Nightmare Breached will commence, and players must enter the Haunted Alcove and slay an onslaught of Nightmares.

Destiny 2: Where to Find Royal Pools

To get to the Haunted Alcove in Destiny 2, turn left after entering Pleasure Garden and fly up to the ledge protruding from the rocky wall. The opening to the alcove can be recognized by its hazy, purplish glow coming from the entryway. A Nightmare Raider should spawn at the end of the dark tunnel if players went to this area when the message dictated above appeared. If the Nightmare mob is not there, this means that Guardians must wait a little longer for the Nightmare Breached Triumph to become available.

After slaying the first enemy in the entryway, Destiny 2 players will encounter more Nightmare Raiders within the Haunted Alcove. These mobs will spawn endlessly for a short while until Nightmare of Kra’lok, the Sword appears. This boss is quite powerful and has heavy firepower to battle the player. Nonetheless, this opponent can be quickly defeated with high-burst attacks and explosive weapons. Following this elite enemy, Nightmare of Ha’lok, the Shield, will spawn.

During this time, Nightmare Lurkers and Raiders will continue to pour into the Haunted Alcove and attack the Guardian. Accordingly, it is recommended players prioritize taking down these adds first before focusing on the boss. The Nightmare of Ha’lok is quite agile, so Guardians might have to pursue the enemy about the room before it finally is slain. Once this second Nightmare boss is dead, Destiny 2 fans will unlock the Nightmare Breached Triumph.

Destiny 2 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PC.
