The weekly reset in Destiny 2 has arrived and with it a new array of challenges and things to do in the game. You’re going to find plenty of things to do this week, and one of the new things players are going to want to engage in is the next focus of Nightfalls. This week, Destiny 2 is focusing on Savathun’s Song. In it, Guardians are going to venture to the depths of Titan to learn what the Hive are up to. For those who complete the Strike in a reasonable amount of time can gain a reward, the legendary auto rifle, Duty Bound. Here’s how you do it.
Destiny 2 – How to Get Duty Bound
To make sure you get Duty Bound, you need to open up your main destination screen and hop on over to the Vanguard Section. You’re going to want to jump into the third option, which you can see below.
The Duty Bound is not a guaranteed drop for the Strike. It’s a random roll that’s going to force you to go through the mode again and again. To make sure you have the best chances to get this legendary Auto Rifle, you’re going to want to play the mode on the highest difficulty available to your light level. You can change the respective light level for the Strike before you initiate the matchmaking setting.
You have several different difficulties available to you before jumping into the Strike:
- Adept – 750 Light
- Hero – 920 Light
- Legend – 950 Light
- Master – 980 Light
Each of these different modes are going to come with an array of different modifiers to make the Strike significantly harder for you and your fireteam. Make sure to review your light level and the modifiers for each mode before jumping into a match. To make sure you’re going to acquire the highest score possible, choose the one closest to your light level. However, don’t go too high. For example, if you’re light level 910, you might want to gain a bit more gear before going into Hero, which is light level 920. There are only three of you in a Strike, so you can’t expect two other players to carry you through the entire thing.
Here are the stats for the Duty Bound when you do get it:
- Impact: 21
- Range: 42
- Stability: 45
- Handling: 61
- Reload Speed: 54
- Rounds per Minute: 600
- Magazine: 41
You can modify these stats based on the type of active perks you acquire when the weapon drops for you. These are the active perks you can acquire with the weapon. It will always have an Adaptive Frame, which makes it a well rounded, reliable, and sturdy weapon.
- Fastdraw IS: Increases handling speed, and increases range.
- Red Dot-ORS1: Increases range and increases handling speed
- Ricochet Rounds: Increases stability and increases range – the bullets bounce off of hard surfaces.
- Accurized Rounds: Increases range.
- Zen Moment: When you damage with this weapon it increases your stability
- Rampage: When you kill with this weapon, it gives your weapon a brief weapon increase buff. Players can stack this up to three times.
The best way to acquire the Duty Bound in Destiny 2 is go through the Nightfall version of the Strike and walk away with the highest score. You’re going to score by killing enemies, picking up orbs, and by completing the Strike quickly. You can see the score modifier at the bottom left of your screen, and the modifier goes down if you do not complete it after 15 minutes.
Good luck, Guardians, and enjoy the new week.
