The DFA — Death From Above — Hand Cannon debuted in the first expansion DLC of Destiny 2, Curse of Osiris. Guardians were able to get their hands on one through the Nightfall version of the Tree of Probabilities Strike. And before the gun was vaulted by Bungie, in the 2020 expansion Beyond Light‘s Season of Arrivals, it was given by Brother Vance for completing his Exodus quest.

The DFA was beloved for its adaptability; thanks to having both Opening Shot and Rampage Perks. Rampage was suited for PvE, while Opening Shot significantly increased the weapon’s viability in Crucible matches. Once again, players will be able to obtain the popular Legendary Hand Cannon and unleash deaths from above, thanks to the Season 17 of The Witch Queen expansion.

Getting the DFA Hand Cannon Again in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen

As part of the Season 17 of The Witch Queen, the DFA Hand Cannon will be available through any Nightfall activities. These are the drop rates for DFA per difficulty:

  • Adept: 1,480 Power Level, Rare.
  • Hero: 1,520 Power Level, Uncommon.
  • Legend: 1,550 Power Level, Common.
  • Master: 1,580 Power Level, Common.

There’s also the even harder Nightfall difficulty, Grandmaster, which was added on April 5. By completing Grandmaster Nightfalls, you will obtain the Adept version of DFA Hand Cannon that has enhanced stats and Adept mods. Considering the gun should not be part of a specific weekly weapon rotation, you should have a lot of time to farm Death From Above when Season 17 of Destiny 2 finally drops into the game.

In terms of recommended PvP and PvE Perks or “god rolls” to get for DFA Hand Cannon, unfortunately, there aren’t any known rolls to be chased for now. We will update this article once Destiny 2 Season 17 is released.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
