Known initially as Neutral Elements, Resonant Elements are a resource in Destiny 2: Season of the Haunted that Guardians use to craft different aspects into a weapon. Such aspects include perks that modify damage and projectiles or attributes that can affect a firearm’s handling and stability. In the past, Neutral Elements were guaranteed drops from Deepsight Resonant weapons, which could then be brought to a crafting bench and extracted. Accordingly, this core crafting component for all weapon recipes has been replaced with the Resonant Element, a resource that can only be farmed using Resonant weapons in Destiny 2.
Extracting Resonant Elements in Destiny 2
To get Resonant Elements in Destiny 2, Guardians must first acquire a Resonant weapon by participating in activities that feature legendary Engrams drops. After getting the firearm, fulfill its attunement process by using it in combat. Typically, this procedure requires about forty enemy kills. Finally, extract the Resonant Elements from the armament to craft new weapons or refine old ones.

Engrams in Destiny 2 are encrypted states of matter that can be decrypted into a usable form by Cryptarchs. Legendary Engrams will appear purple in appearance, and players can recognize if it’s a Resonant weapon by the distinct red border surrounding its sprite image. Since these Engrams are random world drops, Guardians can acquire them in public events, strikes, PVP matches, or other in-game activities in Season of the Haunted. Once players have obtained a Resonant weapon, the next step is to farm enemy mobs to advance the item’s Attunement Progress.
While there is no ultimate way to attune a Resonant weapon quickly, there are some clever strategies that players can perform to ensure they get the process finished as swiftly as possible. For example, Guardians can load into dungeons or activities where they are able to farm enemies solo. This means they will not have to compete with any other players for Attunement Progress. Additionally, having an armor mod that automatically reloads one’s firearm will significantly help streamline this process. Finally, it would also help to equip multiple Resonant weapons during a run to ensure the player can make Attunement Progress for all of them during a single activity.
