Destiny 2 Season 17: Season of the Haunted brought a slew of new weekly challenges for you to conquer. One of them asks you to rain down fiery hell on your enemies during Sever missions. Here’s a quick tip on how you can deal fire damage in Sever Activities in Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted.

How Can You Deal Fire Damage in Destiny 2 Sever Activity?

First of all, while weapon element types exist in Destiny 2, the game doesn’t use conventional names such as fire, ice, thunder, etcetera for its elements as in other typical RPGs. Check the table below for a short description of how each element type works.

You have to keep in mind that the Solar 3.0 rework is introduced in Season of the Haunted, and that means there will be several challenges that will task you to use the “fire” element. To complete the fire challenges, you will want to equip your Guardians with the best Solar weapons, such as the Tommy’s Matchbook Auto Rifle, Ticuu’s Divination Bow, or one of the Opulents/Menageries like CALUS Mini-Tool or Drang, among others. You can also change your skills to a Solar build to make things easier.

Below is the list of weekly challenges that need to be completed using Solar or fire damage in Destiny 2 Season 17: Season of the Haunted, which will be updated as Bungie introduces new ones.

Season of the Haunted Weekly Challenges:

  • Week 1 – Sustained Fire: Defeat combatants with Auto Rifle or Trace Rifle final blows on the Derelict Leviathan, and defeat combatants with Solar damage in any Sever Activity.

How to Run Sever Activities

If you need a quick reminder, this is how Sever Activity works. Severs are related to the Bound in Sorrow Seasonal Quest, and to start it, all you need to do is open the map menu, go to the Moon, and select the Sever Quest icon next to the Derelict Leviathan in Castellum. Your Power Level will be automatically raised to 1,550 PL, so you don’t have to worry even if you’re playing solo.

There is a new Sever Activity in each week of Season of the Haunted, which starts on Tuesday, May 24th, and ends on Thursday, August 23rd. Considering the weekly reset happens on Tuesday, that means there are six Sever Activities that you can participate in:

  • Week 1: Sever – Shame
  • Week 2: Sever – Reconciliation
  • Week 3: Sever – Grief
  • Week 4: Sever – Forgiveness
  • Week 5: Sever – Rage
  • Week 6: Sever – Resolve

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
