From October 10 to October 17th, the Inverted Spire Nightfall strike will be available on Destiny 2. Compared to previous events, it will step up the difficulty level via several difficulty modifiers. This guide will break down everything expected from this premier event, including tips on how to complete the Inverted Spire Nightfall challenges. Watch out for the end, where we discuss how to defeat Protheon, Modular Mind Boss.
Destiny 2: How to Complete the Inverted Spire Nightfall
Completing the Inverted Spire Nightfall strike requires understanding two difficulty modifiers: Attrition and Timewarp: Killing Time Modifiers. Below is a breakdown of everything you need to know about them.
Timewarp: Killing Time Modifier
At the start of the game, you’ll have eleven minutes to complete a mission; if the timer reaches zero, you will have failed. The only way to start the timer again is to kill every enemy you see, as this will extend your mission by a certain amount. Here’s a cool tactic: Rather than rushing through Inverted Spire Nightfall, how about combing through each area and dealing with weaker enemies first to extend your timer? Cool right?
Attrition Modifier
Attrition refers to the impairment of the health of your guardians as a result of extended battles. However, you can easily rejuvenate them with a simple trick. Occasionally, your enemies will drop small orbs of light after defeating them. If you pick them up or run through them, the health of your fire team will automatically improve. That’s why you need to focus on killing every enemy on Inverted Nightfall Strike because the rewards are twofold: rejuvenated health and more time to complete your missions.
Defeating Protheon, Modular Mind Boss
Now that you have the basic game strategy down, it is time to focus on defeating one of the strikes’ most important bosses —the Protheon, Modular Mind boss. We recommend taking the following steps:
First, have two of your fireteam focus entirely on the boss and another on the spawning Harpies. Why? Because the Harpies can significantly wear down your fireteam, they will disappear if you deal enough damage to Modular Mind. The second stage of your fight involves taking down his minions after he disappears. Remember, doing this also buys you time.
Finally, you will have to drag the fight out with Protheon, his Goblins, and Harpies. We recommend having a friend to help you out at this stage. It is essential that you fight off the minions first. Also, save yourself enough time to complete your mission. Otherwise, you will have to restart the whole thing again.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, IOS, Android, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 platforms.
