In Season of Dawn, the first thing you will need to do is visit Ikora at the Tower to begin the A Matter of Time quest. She will give you the Disturbance on Mercury quest step, telling you that Osiris needs your help. To visit the Sundial, open your Director and go to Destinations, then click on Mercury. At the top of the map will be a new node for The Sundial.
Click on it, then move up the steps towards the waypoint and go into the Sundial itself. Speak with Osiris, who will give you the next part of the quest.
Step 1 – Recovery Operation
For the next part of the quest, you will need to repair the Sundial Obelisk on the Tangled Shore. To do this, you will need to collect items from dead Cabal. To save time, spawn in at Soriks Cut, then kill every Cabal you see until you have all the things you need. When that is done, head for the fast travel point at Thieve’s Landing.
The Obelisk is right beside the fast travel point. Move to down to the platform with the console on it and interact with it to repair the Obelisk.
Step 2 – Light Collection
Now that the Obelisk has been repaired and modified, you need to collect Light. To do this, kill enemies with your abilities, your Super, and collect Orbs of light. Equip a Masterworked weapon or two to ensure plenty of Light Orbs will drop, then kill every enemy you can find. Keep using abilities and Supers to get your kills until you have fully charged your Light Charge to 100 percent.
When that is complete, return to the Obelisk to activate it, and link it to the Sundial.
Step 3 – The Sundial
For this step, you need to enter the Sundial so that Osiris can calibrate the machine to you, allowing you to travel through time. You need to do this through the Sundial Playlist. Just open your Director, go to Destinations, then click on Mercury. There will be another new node there for the Sundial Playlist, click on this to enter the matchmade activity.
The Sundial will be you and your Fireteam against hordes of enemy Cabal. When the on-screen progress bar is full, you will need to defeat a boss, and when this is completed, you can return to the area where you met Osiris and collect a weapon and the Lantern of Osiris Artifact.
