Nintendo announced last week that Children of a certain age shouldn’t play the 3DS handheld in the 3D mode for risk of damaging their young eyes. Followed shortly thereafter by doctors claiming that the testing has proven that 3D is not harmful to the eyes at any age.
In an attempt to completely avoid any potential lawsuits in the future of vision damage from the Nintendo 3DS, Satoru Iwata stays by his claim and warning that children of a certain age should not play the device.
Iwata pointed out that the comparisons between watching a 3D television program or movie and playing a video game are quite different and can have different effects on the eyes, especially that of young children.
Even at the Nintendo World event the company had children playing the device only in 2D.
