Demon’s Souls on the PS5, unlike most RPGs these days, require you to reach a certain point before you can level up. That said, in this guide, I will explain all of the necessary steps you the player most undergo before you can level up in the Demon’s Souls remake.

How to Level Up in Demon’s Souls on the PS5

In order to level up in the Demon’s Souls remake, you have to unlock it first. To unlock the ability to level, you have to beat one of the first bosses in the game known as the Phalanx. To defeat Phalanx, I recommend using fire attacks; you can use an item called pine resin to do this. As a side note, make sure to dodge by rolling and ignore incoming enemies other than the boss. If you need more help defeating Phalanx, we have a guide just for that down below.

After you kill Phalanx, you will then need to return to the Nexus and speak with the Monumental. When you speak to them, and after they finish talking, a message will pop up stating the four sealed archstones have been unlocked.

Once you are done speaking to the Monumental, you will then need to talk to the Maiden in Black, and when you finish her dialogue, it will unlock the ability to level up.

After you unlock leveling up in the Demon’s Souls remake, all you need to do to level is kill various enemies and bosses in the game and gather their souls up. When you have gathered a large sum of these said souls, you will then need to bring them back to the Maiden in Black to level up. We recommend focusing on the smaller enemies to farm souls as they will be the easiest to deal with.
