This one is for those who prefer to cry with a game as opposed to yelling at it. Today, developer DreamTree Games and publisher Wexplore Games announced the launch of their new story-driven adventure game DeLight: The Journey Home. This unique, sensory indie title is now available on Steam, Google Play, and the App Store.

DeLight: The Journey Home Story

The story follows Sammy, a blind girl who was separated from her family during a war. She now has to face the dangers of a war-torn city in order to reunite with her loved ones. Sammy uses her heightened sense of sound and smell to navigate through the perilous streets. Sound and scents will act as clues as to where she needs to go. A cute dog named Deli also accompanies Sammy during her search, assisting her in finding items and helping people along the way.

Features

DeLight’s stylized visuals represent Sammy’s imagination – what she perceives the world around her to be. However, as many of us know, our imaginations can be dangerous and can mislead us. You will need to help Sammy react to quick-time events to save her from trouble when her imagination leads her astray.

As she makes her way through the city, Sammy will meet new people to learn about their hardships and troubles. Every decision you make will influence the story and how it resolves. The citizens that you help, the answers that you give, and the questions that you ask will shape the path that Sammy and Deli take.

The first chapter of DeLight: The Journey Home is free on Steam, Google Play, and the App Store. Chapter two is available for $1.99. All five chapters on the App Store and Google Play are available for $5.99. On Steam, the five chapters (plus the soundtrack) have a discounted launch price of $8.42.

According to DreamTree, more chapters will be released in the coming months. You can follow the developers here for updates on DeLight: The Journey Home. DreamTree is a Malaysia-based indie game development studio. The team is made up of three passionate gamers who created their first indie title in 2017 (Uri: The Sprout of Lotus Creek).
